PORTABLE ELECTRIC SPACE HEATERS

When it gets cold outside, we look for other ways to keep warm. Most people use portable electric heaters. Portable space heaters are great if you just want to warm up one particular room. Some people will close off the less used parts of their home and use the portable electric heater when they go into one of those closed off rooms.

Electric heaters work well in outdoor garages and other small rooms. Even though they provide a great service, they can be very dangerous. Reports show that electric space heaters account for more than 25,000 fires.

Even though there is no flame in an electric space heater, they get very hot. Anything nearby that’s flammable may catch on fire. To avoid possible dangers, read and follow your instruction manual thoroughly. Make sure your portable electric heater has the UL sticker on it and try not to use an extension cord if possible.

Never leave a portable electric heater unattended. Do not keep it on what you were sleeping and make sure that you watch carefully when children are close by. Do not try to drive close on top of the heater and never use in wet areas.
